Isabella (Clements) Hamilton was born about 1746 on her father's plantation on Calfpasture River in Augusta County, Virginia. She was the daughter of Mary Ann (Campbell) and Jacob Clements. She was only eight years old when her father Jacob, died and guardianship was appointed: John and Mary Carlile's bond, as guardians (appointed) to Ruth and Isabella Clements, orphans of Jacob Clements. [1]
At the time of the will her mother was still alive.
Isabella Clements or Clemens married on 20 May 1773 in Virginia to William S. Hamilton and they had ten children.
In 1848 she was living with her son Jacob Clemens Hamilton, who had built a large brick, ranch style home on his parents former land.
She died about 15 March 1848 in Greenbrier, Virginia, USA. [3]
