Biography

Emily was born in 1818 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of Edward Blair Cabell and Harriet Forbes Monroe.

On 19 May 1835, in Chariton, Missouri, she married Peter Thompson Abell. Here they had 9 of their children. They then moved to Atchinson, Kansas in 1854 where they had 3 more children.

Peter passed away in 1874. Afterwards she went to go live with one of her children in Cass County, Missouri. It was here she passed away in 1884. She was brought back to Kansas and buried with her husband at the Mount Vernon Cemetery.
