Joseph Liboire Adrien Cadieux (referred to as LJ) was born in 1873 in French Canada[1], son of Louis & Domithilde (Faucher) Cadieux.

He first married Marie Julia Eugenie Riopel (Julia) (daughter of Delphis "Joseph" & Eugenie (Beaudoin) Riopelle) in 1904 in Polk County, Minnesota. This marriage lasted until 1909 and resulted in two children: a daughter presumably died young, and a son, Arthur Cadieux. In the 1910 US Census his wife and son Arthur show up both as living with LJ and living with Julia's mother; this suggests they were still married, but separated at the time of the census.

He married his second wife Rosanna M. Charron in 1915, also in Polk Co., MN. They lived for a number of years in the Yakima, Washington area. For example we find in the 1940 U.S. Federal Census, Yakima County, Washington

  • L.J. Cadieux, Head of Household ( age 66; born French Canada);
  • Rose Cadieux (wife, age 50, born in Minnesota);
  • Darius ["Dora?"] Cadieux (daughter, age 20, born in Minnesota);
  • Marie Charon (sister in law, single, age 37, born in Minnesota);
  • Emilie C. Laurent (sister in law, widowed, age 46)
  • Helen Martin (lodger, age 23);
  • Clayton Martin (listed as "husband", presumed to be Helen's husband, age 25)[1]

He died November 6, 1948 in Selah, WA[2] and is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Yakima[3]. Liboire is buried in plot E-4-E-Grave 7 in Calvary Cemetery, 1405 South 20th Avenue, Yakima, Washington (see attached pdf file).[4]
