The settlement Westward was along the Assiniboine River, and the members of the party at once staked out claims by plowed furrow, as no survey had then a homestead not far from Old been made. Mr. Cadman located High Bluff where he lived for forty- seven years, the last eight years of his life being spent in this city. As the settlement grew the necessity for schools and churches arose and Mr. Cadman took an active interest in the establishment and maintenance of both especially the latter.
