I've been doing genealogy since my teens and am currently a professional genealogist! My special focuses are New England (specifically colonial Connecticut and mid-1800s Massachusetts), British Columbia, Canada, and Alberta, Canada.

I earned my Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies from the International Institute for Genealogical Studies in 2020, focusing in American Records and Methodology, and continuing to learn and grow as a genealogist every day!

Hi I would like to invite you again this year to join the 2018 Spring Clean-a-Thon and join the Team Tennessee Volunteers 2018 Spring Clean-a-Thon this year I am going to be the leader like I was for Team Tennessee 2017 Source-a-Thon. Thanks for the reply! I was, in fact, a member on AHSGR a year or two ago -- thanks to them, I found out the Schafer connection in the first place.  :) My mom wanted to see if she could find out who her great grandparents were on her dad's side.

Hi, we joined the same day, and are both looking for Schafers who are Germans from Russia! Wow. I have a Regina Schafer who married Ferdnand Bolger. They were Volga Germans in Russia. They had Solomon (or Salomon, or Simon) Bolger. Solomon married Theresia Wiegel from Gnadendorf, Russia. They came to the United States in 1906 and settled in Russell, Kansas. Their son, Fred, was born that same year. He is my mother's father, and thus my grandfather. He died years before I was born.
