Felicia Cahanin was probably born about 1837 in Louisiana, United States. She was baptized on 4 February 1840 at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish. Her parents were Gustave Michel Pierre Cahanin and Phelonise "Felonise" Wyble.[1][2]
She was listed at 13 years of age with her parents and six siblings on the 1850 census.[3]
She married Clement Hollier on 23 December 1862 in Opelousas, and the record indicates that he was previously married to Clara Doucet.[4][5][6]
Felicia and Clement were listed together on the 1870 census.[7]
The census record and a few other records indicate that this couple had six children:
It is believed that she died during (or directly after) the birth of her last child, Pierre, who passed away two weeks after her. She died on the 8th or 9th of December 1873,[14][15]
and was buried on 10 December in the Saint Landry Church Cemetery in Opelousas.[16][17]
Her succession was filed at the Opelousas Courthouse on 24 January 1883.[18]
