Biography

Burgess Cain, son of Cornelius Cain and Elizabeth Newman, was born in Decatur County, Indiana, United States, 24 Oct 1821. In 1830, he resided with his parents and siblings in Jackson Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana.[1] Next door resided the family of his paternal uncle, James Cain.

In 1850, Burgess and his brother, Cornelius, resided with the family of their sister, Indiana, in Wapello County, Iowa.[2]
