James was born on 20 Jun 1803 and baptised on 7 Oct 1810 in St Peter, Liverpool, to Robert Cain and Mary (Williams) Cain.
James Father, Robert, married Mary Williams in St Anne’s, Liverpool on 25 Apr 1802.
James married Ellen Pigeon in St Peter, Liverpool in 1829. They had a family of seven children born 1831 - 1840.
