Census 1851. Samuel (age 24) is lodging at the home of Thomas (age 28) and Elizabeth (age 35) Crofts at 1 College Street West, St Pancras. Thomas is a dairyman and Samuel is a milkman.
Census 1861: Samuel (age 30) is living at 31 Little Randolph Street, Kentish Town, London with his wife Phoebe (age 23) and children Samuel (age 2) and James (9 months). samuel is a dairyman. Phoebe is born at St Pancras.
Census 1871: Samuel (age 42), a dairyman, is living at 176 Great College Street, St Pancras, London. Phoebe (age 32) has children Samuel (age 12), James (age 10), Herbert (age 8), Joseph (age 6), George (age 4), Phoebe A (age 2) and an unnamed child of 1year old.
Census 1881: Samuel (age 54) is a dairyman and cowkeeper. He is at the same address. No record of the wife Phoebe. Children are: James (age 20), Joseph (age 16), George (age 14) and Phoebe Ada (age 12). William Lofty (age 6) is a lodger. All the Calcraftchildren are milk carriers.
Census 1891: Samuel is 64 and lives on his own means. His address is 151 Kings Road, St Pancras. Only child at home is George J (age 24) and he is listed as a baker traveller.
