Biography

Alexander Calder was an American sculptor known as the originator of the mobile, a type of moving sculpture made with delicately balanced or suspended shapes that move in response to touch or air currents.[1]

Alexander was born in 1898. He was the son of Alexander Stirling Calder and Nanette Lederer.[2][3][4]

Alexander Calder married Louisa James. They lived in New York City, New York, United States[5]

He passed away in 1976.[6]
