Alexander's baptism record reads:
"Alexander, son lawful of William Calderwood, Paper Maker in Dalmuir and Janet Brooks his wife Born 5th October Baptized 27th Nov 1836 by Rev M Barclay"
According to information submitted to Conquerors of the West: Stalwart Mormon Pioneers, Vols. 1-2, Alexander married Margaret on 28 Dec 1862 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they had ten children. (Alexander's date of birth given on this document is incorrect).
