Alexander Calderwood was born about 1806, probably in County Antrim, Ireland.
Alexander and his wife had at least two daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Calderwood. They married brothers, Robert and Alexander Simpson. Alexander was named as the bride's father for each of the marriages.
Alexander may be the Alexander Calderwood who died in 1886 at Glenbuck, Rasharkin, County Antrim, Ireland, aged 80 years old - see research notes below.
Although several Alexander Calderwoods are mentioned in the surviving 1851 Ireland census records, none are a close match for Alexander with two daughters Elizabeth born in 1834 and Sarah born in 1839.
There is a possible match for Alexander who died at Gelnbuck, Rasharkin in 1886. This Alexander left a will mentioning seven children, including Sarah and Elizabeth. There are sources for his death, probate and burial on his Family Search profile.[1]
