William CALDERWWOD was born on 26 January 1842 and christened on
[1]. His parents were Walter CALDERWOOD and Helen CARRICK.
1861, 19 year old, Mason, William was living in Kidderminster Court, Salford, Lancashire, England with his parents, Walter (age 39, Cooper) and Ellen (40) and sister Mary (14)[2].
Widow, Emma SILCOCK (nee HOLMES) and William CALDERWOOD were married on 30 August 1874 in Salford, Lancashire, England[3].
The barque, Selkirkshire set sail from Glasgow, Scotland on 12 November 1878 with the CALDERWOOD/SILCOCK family among the assisted immigrant passengers and arrived in Brisbane, Colony of Queensland on 2 March 1879 but were not allow to dock until 5 March due to illness on board[4][5]. The family consited of William CALDERWOOD (age 37) and his wife Emma (36) and her children from her former marriage, Mary SILCOCK (17), Kate SILCOCK (14) and George SILCOCK (11).
He passed away on 5 June 1880 in Red Hill, Colony of Queensland[6] and was buried at the Toowong Cemetery[7]
CALDERWOOD.—On the 5th of June, at Calderwood Cottage, Red Hill, of consumption, William Calderwood, formerly of Salford, Manchester, England, aged 38 years.
