James Albert Caldow was born about 1863, son of James Caldow (~1836–1919) and Sarah Arthur (1845–1891).
James (32) married Elizabeth Newman (30) (born in 1865 in Landsborough, Victoria) in 1896 in Victoria.[1] Their children were:
James died on March 21, 1933 in Ouyen, Victoria, Australia, aged 69.[2] He was laid to rest at the Ouyen Cemetery, Ouyen, Victoria, Australia.[3]

ELDERLY FARMER'S DEATH Horse Stumbles and Throws Him OUYEN, Tuesday.— Mr James Albert Caldow, of Bronzewing. 70, farmer, was thrown from his horse and killed today. He had ridden from his home to speak to his son George, who was working a combine, and had turned homeward, when his horse put his foot into a hole, stumbled, and threw him. A little later George saw his father's horse standing and an employe named Scriven found Mr Caldow dead beside the horse. Mr Caldow, who was a district pioneer, had been prominent in movements for the good of wheat growers during many years.
