Marion and Lillian were twin sisters in the Caldwell family and remained close in their adult years. (Younger twins were Phillip and Phyllis). Marion was living at home ("working out" doing housekeeping, etc.) into her early 20's. Ralph Bartlett was teaching school in the area when they met. They married in 1937 and moved to Bayside. They had four children: Janice, Phillip, Allan (Jake) and Mary. Marion was a great homemaker and mum, and she and her brothers and sisters remained close all their lives... visiting back and forth, cousins spending summer vacations together, etc. Marion was a great knitter and brought in a little "extra" over the years knitting sweaters for Cottage Craft in St. Andrews. Marion didn't learn to drive until she was almost 60, but she loved to be on the go, even taking trips to PEI or Cape Breton to visit Jake or Jan and usually bringing along a friend or two for the adventure. She always was "one of the girls" - youthful beyond her years. She died way too soon in a car accident at 75 (but not acting it!).
