Biography
Son of John F. Caldwell (Colwell) and Margaret Eleanor Ewing Caldwell. He married Nancy Ann Hardin in 1766 in Virginia.
They had the following children:
- William Henry-Hardin Caldwell (1767-1854)
- David Caldwell
- Jane Caldwell Thorp
- Allen Caldwell
- Amos Caldwell
- George Caldwell
- Sarah (Sally) Caldwell Everett
- John Caldwell
John served in the Revolutionary War: "To John Caldwell for 1 horse serving 90 days, and dried beef and bacon for Continental Service" [1]
He died at about age 55 in Halifax County.
