Helen was born to Samuel and Frances Caldwell. According to The Ottawa Free Press, 1874 Transcription of Marriage Record: Nov 28, David Manchester of Ottawa, to Helen, 2nd daughter of Samuel Caldwell of Huntley Township.
Helen Caldwell, 27 of Huntley Twp., married David Manchester, 35, a merchant, in Ottawa. He was the son of William Jacob & Elizabeth C. Manchester. Witnesses of the wedding included: W. H. Taylor and Annie Montgomery, both of Ottawa. November 28, 1874 at Ottawa.
