Biography
Janet (Caldwell) Weir was born in Scotland.
Janet Caldwell was born in 1825 in New Cumnock, Ayrshire. She was the daughter of William Caldwell and Elisabeth Jamieson.

She married David Weir in August 1850.
In 1851 (at the time the census was taken) , Janet (now a 26 year old Farm labourer's wife) was visiting dairyman Gavin Campbell and his wife Elizabeth at Lochlyack in Carmichael. Janet had her 4 month old son John with her. [2]
She died on the 17th November 1861 at Lower Mains, Skirling, Biggar Lanarkshire. [3]
