Biography
Elizabeth Jane was the second child and daughter of Henry and Margaret (Woods) Caldwell.
She married her first cousin, William Colgan in 1880. William Colgan was the son of her mother's sister Jane. They married in Iroquois ON, but moved to New York City and lived there for the remainder of their lives.
Elizabeth and William had two girls - Louise Leeson and Eva Mary.
William Colgan passed away in Feb 1899, whereupon Elizabeth's older sister Margaret went to live with her and the girls in Brooklyn, New York. Margaret is listed as living with Elizabeth and the girls Louise and Eva in US Censuses from 1900 through 1930.
Elizabeth's daughter Eva preceded her in death in Mar 1937. Elizabeth herself passed away in Brooklyn, New York on 15 June 1940. She is buried alongside her husband William, their daughter Eva, and William's mother Jane (Woods) Colgan in the Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
