Biography

Margaret Caldwell was born on April 18, 1768 in what is now Hawkins County, Tennessee. Her parents were Hugh Caldwell and Ruth Holstein.

She married James Forgey on September 08, 1791. Event: Marriage. 3 JUN 1813. Botetourt, Virginia, United States.

Margaret F Forgey was mentioned on a memorial in New Providence Presbyterian Cemetery, Surgoinsville, Hawkins County, Tennessee, United States with a death date of 7 March 1846.[1]

Research Notes

The first settlers moved into the northeastern part of what is now Tennessee and settled along the Wautauga River in the late 1760's. Margaret Caldwell would have been among the first children born in that area which at that time was under no formal government. It had no county or state name at that time.
