Mary was born on 8 Sep 1720 in Hebron Township, Tolland, Connecticut Colony to John Calkins and Katherine (Foster) Calkins[1] She married Asa Rood and they were the parents of Mehitable, b. 1740 in Lebanon, New London, Connecticut.[2] Asa died soon after their marriage.
