Biography

Mary was born about 1803. She was the daughter of Peter Callaghan. She passed away in 1825.

The family gravestone in Duleek reads as follows, "This testimonial of affection was erected by Patrick Callaghan and Peter Callaghan of Lunderstown in memory of their beloved father Peter Callaghan also of Lunderstown who departed this life 5 Feb. 1837 aged 84. Also in memory of their beloved sister Margaret Grendin late of Duleek who exchanged time for eternity 30 May 1825 aged 22 years. The above named Patrick Callaghan died 12 Mar. 1868 aged 68 years and Peter died 29th Mar. 1866 aged 58 years. Mary, Wife of Patrick Callaghan died 16 Dec. 1870 aged 55 years.
