The late Mrs. Crane had been in delicate health for some time, but retired to rest on Saturday night apparently in her usual good spirits. When Mr. Crane took the customary cup of tea to her bedside about 5 a.m., he found that she had passed peacefully away in her sleep. The late Mrs, Crane, who was 69 years of age, was born at Glen of Arlough, County Tipperary, Ireland, and came to Queensland in the ship Light Brigade when she was only five years of age. She proceeded to Ipswich, where she went to school, and later to Lanefield. She was married at Rosewood on September 24, 1878, and went to live at Lanefield, where Mr. Crane carried on farmlng until two years ago, when they came to Rosewood, where they have resided since. The late Mrs. Crane was held in the highest esteem by a large circle of friends, and was noted for her hospitality and kindly disposition. She leaves, besides her husband , a grown-up family of six sons and one daughter. The daughter is Mrs. G. Geddes (Rosewood), and the sons are - Messrs. Daniel (Pittsworth), John (Blackall). Michael (Roadvale), Jeremiah (St. Lawrence), Patrick (Roma-street), and Bernard (Rosewood). Three sons - Joseph, James, and Francis - predeceased her. A sister (Mrs. Hughes) resides at Laidley, and a brother (Mr. Jerry Callaghan) resides at Wynnum. The flag at the Farmers' Hall was flown half mast yesterday as a tribute to a worthy pioneer. The funeral will leave St. Brigid's Church on Monday morning, at 10.30, for the Railway Station, thence by train to Ipswich, and proceed to the Ipswich Cemetery.
