A clerk return at TX GLO shows a William J Barry emigrated to TX in Dec 1840 with witnesses of J W Callaway and W H Woodly. William J Barry (my great great grandfather) married Elizabeth Ann Callaway, Dec 1842 in Colorado County TX. Your James Wilson Callaway may very likely be this J W Callaway!
