Rauff may be the son of William Calvert who died at Raskelf, Yorkshire, about 1559, rather than the date 1548/1549 given on his father's profile here. William left a will dated 2 March 1558/1559 and proved 20 March 1559/1560 "Calvarde, William, Raskell, husbandman".^[1] The will includes wife Alyse and son Rauff as attached here, but refers to " Anne Thompson my daughter in lawe of Flawith" rather than daughter. He also mentions sons George, John, and William. The will was proved "by George John and William three of the Executors Alice the relict having died and power being reserved to Rauf."^[2] Rauff was the youngest, judging by the order in which the sons are mentioned, and probably had reserved powers because he was under 21.
