Biography
When Samuel Burge Calvert was born on December 12, 1848, in Allen, Kentucky, his father, George, was 37 and his mother, Frances, was 31. He married Martha Ellen Dowell on November 12, 1873 and they had four sons and six daughters. He died on July 20, 1899, in Allen, Kentucky, at the age of 50, and was buried there.
