Biography

Tamar was baptised in 1820 in Thorpe Bassett, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of David Calvert and Mary.^[1]

At the time of the 1841 census, she worked for the Willoughby family in Birdsall, Yorkshire.^[2]

In 1846 Tamar married Francis Towse in Hull, Yorkshire.^[3][4] The family lived in Atwick, Yorkshire, where Francis farmed 280 acres and employed five labourers in 1851.^[5][6][7]

Francis died in 1888 at the age of 74.^[8][9] Tamar died in 1890 at the age of 70^[10] and was buried in Atwick.^[11]
