Vincent Calvin, the fifth son of Captain Luther Calvin and Priscilla leForge, was born 10 April 1781 in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The county had just been newly created from Westmoreland County. The Brown County, Ohio History says that he came from Kentucky to White Oak Creek with his brother Joseph on Christmas Day 1807. While some believe that Vincent married first to Christina Ruth and then to Sarah Pool, that was another Vincent Calvin (son of Stephen Calvin), who was his first cousin.[1]He was born 6 July 1780 in Romney, Hampshire County, Virginia. In addition to the two wives referenced above, this cousin married a third time to Rachel Laycock in Brown County, Ohio on 16 December 1828. He died 20 January 1856 in Cass County, Indiana.
Vincent Calvin is thought to have died before 1831 in Brown County. Researcher Marilyn Solari provided information from the Draper Manuscripts which shows that he was not mentioned in his father's will in 1831. He probably died young and was confused with his first cousin, Vincent, who was the son of Captain Luther's brother, Stephen Calvin.[2]
