Victoire Calvé was born on 3 Mar 1772 to Joseph Calvé and Marie Marechal.[1] She was baptized on 6 May 1772 at Basilica of St. Louis, King of France (the Old Cathedral) in what was then San Luis, Luisiana, Nueva España.[1]
Victoire married Jean Baptiste Lachasse on 18 Aug 1788 at Basilica of St. Louis.[2]
Their known children are Helene Lachasse[3][4][5] and Jean Batiste Lachasse[6][7].
She married Bonaventure Marion dit Labonne. Their original marriage may have occurred before son George's baptism on 11 May 1801.[8] Their Catholic marriage ceremony was performed on 14 Mar 1812 at St Ferdinand Catholic Church in Louisiana Territory, United States of America.[9]
Victoire (Calvé) Marion died on 6 Jul 1818.[11] She was buried on 7 Jul 1818 at St Ferdinand in Missouri Territory.[11][12]
Research Notes
Her 14 Mar 1812 St Ferdinand Catholic Church marriage record indicates that she and Bonaventure Marion were originally married by an Anglican minister in 1808.[9] But the 11 May 1801 baptismal record of George La Bonne indicates that George was the son of the legitimate marriage of La Bonne and Victoire Calvé.[8]
