Biography

The son of Lewis Camburn and Martha (Ganoung) Camburn, Lewis Camburn was born in Macon Township, Michigan in 1868.[citation needed] He lived there with his family.[1][2] He married Carrie L. Jordan (1872-1945), the daughter of Levi David Jordan and Elizabeth Lucretia Shank, marrying in Leroy Township, Michigan, in Osceola County, on May 28, 1892.[3] Carrie Jordan had been married previously to Burton E. Biggs. Lewis and Carrie had two children together:

  1. Constance M. (Camburn) Sherry (1895-1987)
  2. Mildred Camburn (1900-1997)

They made their home in 1910 in York Township, Michigan, in Washtenaw County, where Lewis worked as a postal clerk for the New York City Railroad.[4] By 1920, they lived in Adrian, Michigan, where he held the same job.[5][6]

Lewis Camburn and his wife retired to Orlando, Florida, where he passed away around the age of 71.[7] He is buried with his wife at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando.[8]
