Biography

Archibald was born in June, 1682. Archibald Campbell. He passed away in 15 Apr 1761.

Archibald failed to leave a legitimate heir however he did father children with his mistress. He did, however, have several offspring by a number of mistresses. One, reportedly, was Lieutenant William Campbell (d. 1 Apr 1786), son of Mrs. Anne Williams of Shirburn. [1]

Another one of the Duke's descendants, Jenny von Westphalen, was the wife of the famous German philosopher Karl Marx.
