The entry in the parish register reads Janry. 29th Charles Campbell, Smith in Allan and Isobel Ross his Spouse had a child baptized by the name of Mary. Witnesses John Ross, Grieve, & Norman Ross, Servant there. The Child was born said day...[1] (A grieve was the head worker on a farm - what we would now call a farm manager.)
