William Campbell was born 2 May 1760 in Worcester, Maryland, son of William Campbell and Susannah Hutchinson. (After 1775 this area became Baltimore Hd., Sussex Co., Delaware.)
William and family are found in Sussex, Delaware in 1820.

He migrated in 1828 to Preble County, Ohio with all his children; his wife Mary (Hudson) had died in a wagon fall just bef the trip.
Children of William and Mary were: Elizabeth Campbell m Warren McCabe; Ebe "Abe" Campbell m Lydia McCabe; Wm Jr. Campbell m Lavina McCabe; Mary Campbell m Nathaniel Murray and went on to Iowa; Samuel Campbell m Ellen "Nelly" McCabe; John Campbell m Polly Clark; Lovey Campbell m Armwell Long and then, in Ohio, m Warren McCabe; Josiah Campbell m Sarah Curry in Ohio. All except Sarah Curry were born in Baltimore Hd., Sussex Co. Delaware.[2]
In 1830 he is found living with his son William in Preble, Ohio.

He passed away abt 31 Aug 1836 in Preble County, Ohio.

Not sure of his burial place in Preble Co.; in 1830 his home was with son William who is buried at Antioch Cemetery. Father Wm. was not found in that cemetery.
