MOTHER AND THREE CHILDREN A- CHRISTMAS DAY TRAGEDY. CANOWINDRA, Tuesday.
About 11.30 on Christmas morning Thomas Campbell accompanied by. his wife and three children was driving in a sulky, when the horse became fractious, the result that; the vehicle and occupants fell over an embankment, into a lagoon some three feet deep.
Mrs. Campbell and three 'children aged six, three, and one and a half years, were drowned whilst Mr. Campbell was rescued after, much difficulty by a resident named Townsend. The horse was also drowned. Many townspeople dragged the Lagoon for. the body of the baby, it was recovered about -two miles from the scene of the disaster The search for the bodies continues. Mrs. Campbell was only, a young woman, 25 years of age.[1]
