Charles is the son of Patrick Campbell and Delilah Thompson.

25 Feb 1745: between Patrick Campbell of Augusta County and Charles Campbell of same... deeds of lease and release.. for amount of ₤15.. sells 504 acres (being part of 1,546 acres of land in Augusta Co. which were bought by Patrick Campbell from William Beverley, Gent., 20th and 21st Feb. 1738). (signed) Patr. Campbell (Seal). Witnesses: James Patton, D. Buckhannan, Jno. Smith, Joseph Walker. Recorded Orange County, 28 February 1745. [Orange County Deed Book 9, pg. 28]. [1]

4 Jul 1784: Arthur Campbell sole surviving Executor of Margaret Campbell who was the Sole Executor of Charles Campbell deceased late of the County of Augusta to Rudolph Haupe of the County aforesaid in consideration of the sum of £264 current money of Virginia a certain tract of land containing 300 acres, 200 acres of which being part of a tract of land lying near the head of of the South River in Augusta County and part of a tract of land of 514 acres conveyed by William Beverly Esq to Charles Campbell and the remaining 100 acres being a tract of Land adjoining the aforesaid tract and granted to Charles Campbell by Letters Patent date the 5 Mar 1747. 1 Jul 1786: Arthur Campbell Executor of Margaret Campbell deceased of Washington County to John Hays of Montgomery County in consideration of the sum of £120 current money of Virginia a tract of land containing 220 acres a tract called Buffalo Bottem lying in the said County of Montgomery on the North Branch of the Indian River otherwise called Holstein which was first granted to Charles Campbell by patent bearing the date 22 Aug 1753. Unto my daughter Ann Campbell that tract of land called Papa Bottom situated on the North Branch of Holsteins River below the last mentioned tract containing 300 acres.
My well beloved wife Margaret Campbell to be sole executrix.
