The value of his father Charles' property was ,000 (4,091.21 in 2016), while his personal estate was valued at ,400 (,965.96 in 2016). His entire family was able to read and write. His father Charles was working as a farmer.
At the time of the 1880 census, T. Burr was 28 years old, living with his wife Emma (17) and their two month old son, Issac E. T. Burr was working as a stock raiser. Both he and his wife were able to read and write.

After being convicted on March 21, 1888 in Galveston, Texas for theft of a cow, T. Burr spent two years in the Huntsville State Penitentary in Huntsville, Walker, Texas. He was released on March 5, 1890. During his time there he most likely encountered the outlaw John Wesley Hardin, who was also imprisoned there at the time. Hardin was a member of the debate society and was the superintendent of the prison's Sunday School.
Sometime before 1894, T. Burr Campbell and his wife, Erma S. Bowman, were divorced.
Houston, Texas. February 7, 1894 - A case of considerable interest will come up tomorrow under a writ of habeus corpus, before Judge Brashear of the civil district court. Burr Campbell of Hale County is in the city and wants to get posession of his four children now here in posession of Mrs. Erma F. Campbell, their mother.
'It seems that they were divorced some time ago and the decree of the court gave the children to the husband, but they lived with the mother without protest, and she later moved there, the children coming with her. They have been here some time and the father arrived yesterday and wants the children, and to get posession of them the mother will be brought before the court tomorrow. - Galveston Daily News [Galveston, Texas] - February 8, 1894.

T. Burr Campbell died at his home at 703 Denver Street in Plainview, Hale, Texas on December 25, 1927, at the age of 75. The cause of death was carcinoma. He was buried in the Plainview Cemetery the next day, December 26, 1927.
