1841 Census of Manchester, Lancashire, shows John Connor, born in Ireland, living as a widower with his 2 children, Margaret and Michael. He is living with a Peter Monks and his wife and children. Ann Lyons, sometimes spelled Lions, (nee Monks) lives a short distance away on Burke St.; herself a widow, living with some of her children: Elisa, Catherine and John. Later in 1841(August 21) John Connors, widower, marries Ann Lyons, widow (born Monks). Ann's father is identified as Peter Monks, and John Connor's father is recorded as Michael Connor.
They are married in St. Chad's Chapel, Manchester.
My sources include copies of the marriage record; 1841 Census; 1851 Census and copies of birth records for both Jane Connor, born 1847, and her sister Ellen Connor, born 1843.
