Obituary

MacDonald - At Port Hood, Tuesday, September 29, Mrs. Catherine (Campbell) MacDonald, widow of the late Alexander MacDonald (Sandie Aonghais McAlastair), who predeceased her by twenty-eight years. Mrs. MacDonald who had attained her seventieth year, enjoyed her usual good health until stricken by a heart attack on Tuesday morning, from which she died almost instantly.[3]

Left a widow with six small children, Mrs. MacDonald with splendid courage and unusual ability, reared and educated her family, all of whom are residents of this vicinity. The passing of Mrs. MacDonald, coming suddently as it did, was a great shock not only to her family but to the hosts of friends to whom her many fine and lovable qualities had endeared her. During her long residence in Port Hood her happy disposition, her kindness, and charity towards all made her beloved by young and old alike.

She leaves surviving to mourn their loss six children, four sons and two daughters: John Angus an official of the Inverness Coal Company; Angus W., John Alex, and Dan Colin all in business in Port Hood; Mrs. James Sutherland, Colindale; and Mrs. Alex P. MacEachen, Harbourview.
