He was the son of Frederick Archibald Vaughan Campbell of Cawdor, 3rd Earl Cawdor of Castlemartin and Edith Georgiana Turnor.[1]He was born on the 21st of June 1870,[1]citing Croy and Dalcross, Inverness-shire, Scotland.[2]He was educated between 1884 and 1889 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.[3][4]He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1893 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).[1][3]He married Joan Emily Mary Thynne, daughter of John Charles Thynne and Mary Elizabeth Mac Gregor, on the 11th of June 1898 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, England.[5][3]At St George Hanover Square, London, England.[6]He died on the 7th of January 1914 at the age of 43 at Kingston, Surrey, England.[1][7][8]
