~note for further reading regarding the height of the diphtheria pandemic of the 1880's: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/science-diphtheria-plague-among-children-180978572/ -note: although prior editors have added Esther as Harriet's middle name, I could find no source to back that up so have listed the middle name as 'uncertain' until a source is found. -notes: I have included the death record below which contains an error. The record does not contain an error but in transcription the father is listed as Robert Campbell. Under relationship it should read 'daughter of A Campbell, not R Campbell' and the person reporting is Robert Campbell (her older brother I would think). The record states that no physician was present so this would have been the brother bringing the information to the doctor. Understandable in a household dealing with diphtheria. There is no burial information available.
