Biography

Research Notes

We now know the BigY testing results at FTDNA that this branch of Campbells (R-FT102020) aka "Campbell Kids" is not related to the John Campbell and Grissel Hay line (R-FT66561), nor are they related to the Glenorchy branch (likely R-A5919).

So, the speculation below is a non-starter for this line. Best bet is Shirley Craft's Barbados connection via a Patrick Campbell.

What we need is to look at the Scotland to Barbados lines that we are aware of and concentrate there. For this line though...Auchinbreck/Inverawe/Lochawe "Chiefs"/Glenorchy are all currently off the table as possibilities for an origin (see the Haplotree at FTDNA).

August 2022 Update: according to information given to Sgt. Sam Campbell, this Unknown Campbell-30281 would actually correspond to Patrick Campbell { 1630 Scotland / Entered Essex County, VA. From Barbados 1676 / to death 1679 Essex County, VA. }

His father would be Patrick Campbell-8972, s/o Duncan Campbell-6404, s/o Colin Campbell-1361.

This needs further research. Please add more information if you have it.
