I meant to post this a wee while ago but have been caught up on other Wikitree stuff.

Welcome to the Scotland project. I hope you get a great deal of pleasure collaborating with colleagues in this great project. If you have any questions or wish any advice either send me a private message or email me.

Hi Karin, my name is Kathryn Burner Hamm. I am called Kathy. My maternal great grandmother is Ella May Campbell (1858-1911). She lived in Ursa, Illinois in the USA. If I take her Campbell line back on Family search.org I find a 13th Great Grandfather Sir Colin Campbell 1st Earl of Argyll (1433-1493). On Family search.org I am listed as Mary Kathryn Burner Hamm LY3P-3Y3 is my profile. It is a free site to join. If you would like to look at my family tree just let me know. and I will give you the code for it.My DNA 23 and me is on Wikitree , I tried to see if we have a match, but I was not able to find one. I am a complete beginner on here. We do have many similar connections on wikitree. Well I will run for now. Kathy Burner Hamm

Thank you Kathy for your message. I'm slowly processing and checking all sources of our family tree that mum started over 30 years ago. There are a couple of brickwalls that I hope can be broken down. Only really started on Wiki a few weeks ago and learning as I go, having been researching on other programs for the last 10 years. I'd be interested to see which similar connections we have. :) Karin

Hi Karin,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are usually shared by many descendants, collaborating with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Review the project pages to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Thanks for upgrading, Karin. You are all set to collaborate with our members now. I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

Check out the New Member How-to pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information in those pages.

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.

If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. You can use the "reply" link under this comment or click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
