Biography

John Campbell of Barbreck was born about 1700 the son of Archibald Campbell (1661 - 1742) and Barbara Stewart (1661 - ).

He married 13 April 1723 Elizabeth Hay at Campbeltown, Argyll, Scotland.[1]

There were at least eight children from this marriage:

  1. Charles Campbell (1723 - 1792)
  2. Lionell Campbell, baptized 27 Aug 1728[2]
  3. Barbara Campbell, baptized 17 May 1730[3]
  4. Archibald Campbell, baptized 19 Apr 1732[4]

John married secondly Janet Colguhoune (1748 - 1806) on 5 March 1766 in Luss, Dunbartonshire.
