Jason, re the private mail I sent you: I figured it out. Karen was not approving the merges. She put me on the trusted list of Samuel as I asked and now I have approved the merge so that one is done.

Hi Two Week Member!

How are things going? A couple of tips for you as you add to your tree. If you find a duplicate profile, and complete a merge, all the information from one merge is copied into the new combined profile. Please go in and edit the Biography section remove "duplicate" information.

If you don't have a last or first name, note the related information in the related profile's biography section until additional information is found rather than creating an unknown profile.

If you don't have a date or place of birth, at least try and estimate that information and note that it is an estimate in the Bio section.

And lastly, source as you go, because if you're like me, you won't remember where you found the info.

I am a mentor and here to help so let me know! Nae

Hi ,

Thank you for joining WikiTree. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having. How to use Wikitree is a good place to start. It is a step-by-step-guide to WikiTree basics. The Help Index is also an important place to find how to do most tasks. It is very important that no duplicate profiles are created in WikiTree. Please read this page for clues on avoiding profile duplication. Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Hi Jason!

Thank you for your decision to contribute. WikiTreers have all sorts of skills, but one common interest - genealogy. I would recommend first looking around and become familiar with the various functions.

The main menu, located at the top right of the page, offers access to the most important features amongst them your Wiki-ID. In the help section »G2G« at the bottom, you’ll find the WikiTree online help. You can ask all sorts of questions, technical and others, and because WikiTree is worldwide, there is almost always someone online, who can give a qualified answer. Good luck! - and don't forget to sign the Honor Code. Pleasure to have you onboard.

I have been researching Campbells from Delaware for years and I seem to be stuck in 1771. I am excited to be exploring and contributing to WikiTree in hopes to further the overall project. I look forward to collaborating with you all in our shared initiative

Hi Jason!

Welcome to WikiTree, and thank you for your interest.

If you just want to look things up, or upload a gedcom for match, you do not need to take further actions.

If you want to contribute to WikiTree (add profiles, collaborate etc.), you must sign up as a volunteer. Doing so I’ll ask you to tell a little about your plans at the bulletin board. Do not volunteer unless you plan to contribute please!

After volunteering you can sign the Honor Code. You'll then become a full member and can help grow WikiTree through participation in the community.
