DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Étienne by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Étienne:

Has anyone seen this? The site is actually devoted to Catherine Paulo, Etienne Campeaus wife who was also une des Filles du Roi. I am posting it here so that people with more experience than I have can evaluate it.

I quote:

"No one has been able to find Etienne Campeau’s burial record. But his descendant Lucien Campeau writes “The date of his death can only be determined from a piece of paper found in Claude Maugue’s office, dated the afternoon of September 24, 1692.” He says “The entry suggests that the death was sudden and unexpected, perhaps accidental.”'

My search of the notary’s records on Family Search did not turn up any documents written on that date."

Catherine was a widow at the age of 46. Her youngest child would have been seven-years-old and the eldest 28. She did not re-marry........

Sometimes Catherine went by "Cordetelle", her mother's maiden name

For what it is worth, If this is the same person, there is also a plaque at Notre Dame ancient Cemetery with his name on it underneath Catherine Paulo's

The history reads:

Catherine Paulo, daughter of Pierre and Renee Cordetelle Paulo, came to Canada as a Les Filles du Roi, a Kings Daughter, from France. The picture is the commemorative-marker to Catherine, in a park in Old Montreal that recognizes her as one of the 36 original les filles du roi. Catherine's 1st cousin, Marie Paulo, (M: Daniel Joseph Panier) also came to Canada as a Les Filles du Roi, her father is Catherine's father's brother Etienne, his wife is Marie Nardine."

PM's, when one of you has time, the profile needs to be cleaned. I'd do it but it seems complex and would rather one of you handle it.

Just added in descendents of Etienne Campeau based on an genealogical study that I funded. The results agree with much of the Campeau tree on Wikitree, with two exceptions: Firstly, no source could be found for the birth date of Etienne and thus I would like to know the source for this date as my genealogist indicates that parish records from France for the location and time of Etienne's birth have not survived. Secondly, I have been told that in the marriage records for Etienne's son, Michel, of 1696, that Etienne is listed as deceased, so the date of death currently in his Wikitree profile must be wrong. My sources are noted in the genealogical report Ancestors of Denis Stanislas Compeau. Any objections to correcting the death date?

You’ve proposed a merge Campeau-80 to Campeau-22 and I declined it for the simple reason that there are errors in your data (Died September 8, 1723 in Montréal, Quebec, Canada) and I don’t want to start correcting all the Gedcom files that you downloaded. The Source: Jetté, René-Dictionnaire Généalogique des familles du Québec 1983 p.194 Tangay-Cyprien-Dict. Gén. Des Fam Can.-Francaise Vol.-1pg101 et Vol 2 p.530-536 Revue Nos Racines-Les Campeau stated that he died September 1692 but even this might be wrong since PRDH (a very good source)don't have any mention of when he died.

Your sources point to Ancestry.com and is not a good source because there are over 6000 references alone on Etienne Campeau.
