Biography

When Malinda Alice (Allie) Canaday was born in 1780, her father, William, was 21, and her mother, Rebekah, was 25. She married Abraham Haynes on November 3, 1800 (this is date of marriage bond not actual ceremony), in Wilkes, North Carolina. They had eight children in 18 years.

She died sometime before 1830 in Greene County, Georgia.

They moved to Pennfield in Greene County in 1816. Allie was in the 1820 Census with Abraham. He was listed on the 1827 Greene County Tax Digest and still in Greene County when the 1830 Census was taken, and the only female was 10 to 14 years old. Abraham moved to Troup County in 1831. Based on all this information, it is a good indication Allie died in Greene County not Troup County.
