John Gerard Canavan, known as Rod Canavan
Born 14 May 1928, in Bronx, New York City, New York to James Canavan and Theresa Helen Bowden, the oldest of 8 children.[1] [2] [3] He was Catholic.
Note: CANAVAN JOHN GERARD, "ROD", 72, Del City, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away October 29, 2000. John was born May 14,1928, in New York City, NY, to Theresa and James Thomas Canavan. John began his distinguished 33-year military career (1944) with the Marines and retired in 1977 as an Air Force Chief Master Sergeant. He married Linda Marie Palmigiano, on May 4, 1952. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, John, Jr. and Diane of Shawnee, Richard and Karen of Norman, Barry and Ann of Norman, James and Ruth of Scottsdale, AZ; his sister, Delores (sic) of New York; brother, Joe of Florida; and eight grandchildren, Aimee, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, John, Steven, Rachel, Whitney, and Brian. Services are 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 1, 2000, at Tinker Air Force Base Chapel, with burial at Arlington Memory Gardens.
