Hi Peter

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you have begun adding profiles for the pre-1700 ancestors you have found in your search. Congratulations on getting back that far!

Since you are now back in the time period where many people can be descended from those ancestors, we need more details in your source area. As collaborative genealogists, we need to tell each other our sources so that we can work together to assess the relative reliability of the source and the evidence it contains.

The Sources - Examples section more fully explains what information needs to be included in source citations for pre-1700 profiles.

We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Do the Ancestry Trees you are citing include primary sources which would be a good addition?

What is your source for the middle name of Henry Foster White, husband of Sarah Felton? He is a direct ancestor and his parentage is a wall for me. If you have more information or sources please let me know.

Hello Peter,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hello Mr. Cannella. I am Joshua Truksa, descendant of Castrenze and Angela Salemi of Corleone if this particular WikiTree tree is reliable. According to the tree, they were ancestors of my 4th-great-grandmother, Carmela Gaglianello. I wanted to know your source for the information in the profile of Angela Salemi ( Have there been any developments on what her maiden name may have been?

Thanks for having a Big Heart and adopting Orphan Profiles. You will want to read this After Adopting Orphans to understand what to do next. As you know have more than 175 unsourced profiles to work, please refrain from further adoptions.
