"On Saturday last died, at his House at Froyl near Farnham, Mrs. Elizabeth Newman, wife of William Newman, Esq; one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Southampton, and Daughter of Capt. Richard Canning, late an experienced Sea-Officer in Queen Anne's Wars; a Lady greatly lamented by all who had the Pleasure of her Acquaintance."
