Biography

Thomas was born 1/4/1849 in Oregon. He was the son of Louis Cannon and Mary Smith. In 1850 Thomas was living with his parents and siblings in Marion, Marion, Oregon Territory, United States. In 1860 Thomas was living with his parents and siblings in Santa Rosa Township, Sonoma, California. In 1870 he was living with his mother and siblings in Analy Judicial Township, Sonoma, California and he was working as a farm laborer. By 1880 Thomas was married to Henrietta "Hattie" Powley and they were living with their son William in Lake City, Modoc, California where they were farming. By 1900 Thomas was widowed and was living and working as a laborer in Sonoma Township, Glen Ellen and Auga Caliente Precincts, ED 177, Sonoma, California. In 1910 he was living with his brother Jerome in Analy, Sonoma, California. In 1920 Thomas was living and farming in Sanel, Mendocino, California. By 1930 Thomas was living with his brother Louis in Penngrove, California where he was a laborer on a dairy farm. Thomas died 4/6/1935 and is buried with family members in the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery (Plot Fulkerson 53).
